LALIQUE participated in the Friar’s Club Foundation event at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City on June 6, 2012 that honored Tom Cruise with their highest award, ‘The Entertainment Icon Award’. Lalique donated the iconic black Trophee Lalique that was presented to Tom in front of hundreds of people at the star-studded gala. The Entertainment Icon Award has previously only been awarded to three Hollywood legends in the past 100 years: Douglas Fairbanks, Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra. Performers at the event, emceed by Alec Baldwin included Cuba Gooding Jr. and the cast of Broadway’s “Rock of Ages”, also a film in which Tom stars. The Trophee Lalique was created by Marie-Claude Lalique, granddaughter of founder Rene Lalique, and is made of stunning black crystal.
