To introduce Volvo’s newest hybrid models, the XC60 and V90, SGC hosted three events in NYC and LA for editors and influencers to experience the new vehicles. In New York City, the editors’ day-long event kicked off with a breakfast presentation at Tavern on the Green in Central Park with speeches from Volvo executives including Head of Design, Eric Beak. Guests continued their Volvo experiential journey with drives of the vehicles upstate with a stop at Gedney Park in Millbrook before continuing onto The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean Georges for a customized five-course tasting menu.
Later that evening, SGC hosted a second NYC intimate cocktail event for select influencers where guests were treated to individual, guided walk-around and informational tours by Eric Beak. Influencers will further their engagement into the Volvo universe by borrowing the XC60 or V90 vehicles to personally experience how the cars fit into their own lifestyles.
In Los Angeles, a combined press and influencer day-long event kicked off at Santa Monica Proper Hotel, where guests were introduced to Volvo executives and the new models. After their individual walk-arounds of the cars, guests proceeded to test drive the vehicles along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway through Malibu Canyon with a stop at Reagan Ranch for photos. Guests then continued their Volvo journeys onto Geoffrey’s Malibu Restaurant, perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean where they enjoyed lunch and scenic views. Erik Beak then took the group through a presentation of his inspiration, vision and design for the XC60 and V90 CC before editors drove back to Santa Monica Proper.
